Documenting Membership in the Academy

We’ve been asked how your participation in Teaching Academy events should be documented in your CV. Here’s an example of how to include it in a section on professional development.

Professional Development

Distinguished Member, NMSU Teaching Academy, 2011–2012. Membership in the NMSU Teaching Academy is based on participation. Distinguished Membership is the highest level of membership and requires at least 40 hours of participation within one year.

Events attended:

  • Publish & Flourish: Become a Prolific Scholar, Tara Gray, New Mexico State University, a non-credit short course, Spring, 2011. 15 hours
  • How Students Learn: Strategies for Teaching from the Psychology of Learning, Todd Zakrajsek, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, September 30, 2011. 2.5 hours.
  • Teaching Scholars, Spring, 2012. 50 hours
