Promotion and Tenure Workshops

Promotion and Tenure (P&T) workshops are offered each year in the fall and spring (tenure and promotion to associate professor in the fall; college-track or promotion to full professor in the spring). In these workshops, participants hear remarks from the Provost about the P&T process. These remarks are followed by a working session in which participants view sample successful portfolios from their colleges and speak to their college deans and/or P&T committee reps about P&T requirements and strategies.

 Promotion and Tenure Portfolio Workshops

The centerpiece of a P&T portfolio is an executive summary that explains why you do what you do as a faculty member and how well you do it. In this workshop, you’ll get guidance from your writing group, which will include a mentor who is a dean or associate dean or is a member of your College P&T committee. Participants from all colleges including the library and all four community colleges are welcome, as are college-track faculty, tenure-track faculty, and faculty going up for full professor.
